Using the Bar Graph Question Type |
Add a Bar Graph
The Bar Graph question type allows students to answer by shading values directly on a graph.

Insert a Bar Graph
- In the Tool Box, click Math.
- Select Bar Graph.
- Click and drag on the slide to draw the size you want.

The Bar Graph editor will open automatically.
Change the X- and Y-Axis Labels
Click the pencil icon next to X-Axis or Y-Axis to rename the labels.

Edit the Bars
By default, the graph includes two bars.
- Click the green + to add a bar. You can add up to 16 bars.
- Click the red - below a bar to remove it.
Change Bar Settings
Click the pencil icon under a bar to adjust its settings.
| Bar Name | Enter the label displayed below the bar. |
| Background Color | Choose the fill color. Select Apply to all bars to use the same color for every bar. |
| Bar Spacing | Choose None for a histogram style or Add Spacing to create visible gaps between bars. |
| Border Width | Set the thickness of the outline around each bar. |
| Border Style | Select the outline style for each bar. |
| Border Color | Choose the color of the bar outline. |
Edit the Y-Axis
Click the pencil icon next to the Y-Axis labels to adjust the scale.

- Click the green + to add lines.
- Click the red - to remove lines.
- Enter labels as needed. You may leave some blank.

Set Correct Answers
Click inside each bar to select the correct value. The graph will automatically shade from the X-Axis up to the selected row.
Click again to change the selected value.
When finished, click Save Bar Graph.
To edit later, double-click the graph or select Edit.
If you want to discard edits before saving, choose Cancel All Changes.
What Students See
Students see an empty graph. They click within each bar to select their answer and can click again to adjust it.

Scoring
Scoring occurs when the student submits the Activity.
Students must answer all bars correctly to receive full credit. Partial credit is not awarded for partially correct graphs.
