Grading on an iPad, Tablet, Phone or Mobile Device

iPads, phones, and other tablets are convenient devices for grading student work. The pen tool is especially handy because you can handwrite comments directly on a student's submission. However, you may encounter some screen size challenges. Phones and tablets are often used in portrait mode, while the Classwork.com interface is designed to work best in landscape.

To make grading easier on iPads, phones, and tablets, we've added features that give you more room to view student work.

At the bottom left of the screen, you'll find this icon:

Tapping this will collapse the scoring panel, hiding all detail and custom scoring elements so you can see more of the student’s work.

Tap this icon to return to the normal view:

If you’re working with a Slide View activity, you’ll also see a selection panel that lets you preview each slide and quickly move between them. While convenient, it takes up space you might want to use for reviewing responses. To hide the slide selector, tap the element between the student submission and the slide selector:

This will hide the slide selector. By collapsing both the scoring panel and the slide selector, you’ll have a larger view of the student’s work while still using the tools and flexibility of your iPad or tablet to grade assignments.
