Create Fast & Effective Formal Assessments

Formal assessments don’t have to take forever to create.

With Classwork.com, you can build standards-aligned quizzes and tests in just a few clicks — and get instant data you can use right away.

Let’s build your first one.

Click here to download Click Sheet of:

Step 1: Create a New Activity

From your Activities page, click the big green + New File button.

Choose the yellow Content Assistant option, then select Create Questions from Standards.

Click Learning Standards, then hit Search Standards in the bottom-left.

Pick your state, course, grade level, and the specific standards you want.

When you’re done, click Save Changes.

Step 2: Choose Question Types and Quantity

Select your question types — multiple choice, open answer, fill in the blank, etc.

Then choose how many total questions you want (e.g., 20), and click Generate Questions.

Uncheck any questions you don’t want, then click Add Questions to insert them into your activity.

Step 3: Edit (Optional)

You can double-click any question on the page to edit it. Tweak wording, fix answer keys, or modify the layout however you’d like -- you can do this before inserting the questions into your activity OR after they have been added.

Step 4: Name and Preview Your Assessment

Click the pencil icon next to Untitled Activity at the top of the screen to give your assessment a name.

Then click the blue Save button in the bottom corner.

Next, click the Preview icon (monitor with an eye) in the top toolbar to see exactly what your students will experience.

When you’re done, click the X to exit the preview and return to editing.

Step 5: Assign the Assessment

When you're ready to deliver your assessment, you have two ways to assign it from the Activity Detail screen:

  • Use the green + New Assignment button at the top of the right panel
  • Or scroll to the bottom and click the white + Create New Assignment button with the baby blue border

Both options open the Assign screen, where you'll choose your LMS (like Google Classroom) and select your classes.

Then, fine-tune your settings:

  • Set a due date
  • Add a time limit
  • Hide or show correct answers and scores
  • Enable accommodations like Read Aloud
  • Turn on copy/paste prevention
  • Click Save, and your assessment is ready to go.

That’s It!

You’ve created a standards-aligned, auto-graded assessment with clear data and zero stress.

Now go assign it to your students — and let the insights roll in.
